The Midterm Vote and the Future of School Meals

As we approach our midterm election we have the opportunity, through our vote, to set the direction of our state and country. 

Recent changes by our current US senators and past representatives with their votes in support of the One Big Beautiful Bill compromised our compassion and support for the less fortunate. In particular, reductions to SNAP benefits reduced financial support for school breakfast and lunches for needy children. These reductions will increase and cause greater loss after the midterm election. For many children these are the most nutritious meals they receive. No child should be left hungry. 

We need elected officials who provide support for the less fortunate. Providing support for the needy is what we are supposed to do. That should be what we expect from our elected officials.
